This our most decadent and over-indulgent service for couples.  Well that is if you think close to two and a half hours of pampering is decadent and over-indulgent!  For some it is a need.

What makes this massage Deluxe? Your appointment time is scheduled for two and a half hours, giving you plenty of time to change, relax, sip a cup of tea, enjoy delicious cookies, soak your feet, all the while reconnecting with the special someone joining you.  Then retreat to separate treatment rooms for your 90 minute massage based on a Swedish massage technique (specialized techniques, and special attention for problem areas can be incorporated) with a bonus of special pampering for your hands and feet in the form of organic Shea Butter and warm towels restoring moisture and making them buttery soft.  To finish at least 20 minutes following your massage to use our deluxe jetted shower, relax further in our relaxation room with more tea or water, change and slowly return to the rest of the world relaxed and calm.  This is way more than a massage, it is a complete pampering experience.

Why separate treatment rooms?  In our combined years of experience we have found that everyone likes the idea of having a “couples” massage in the same room.  People think it is going to be romantic, sensual, perfect.  But that is in theory.  In practice, the room is crowded, no one seems to relax, a therapist talking to one client (even in hushed tones) about issues interrupt client two, and if you aren’t romantically involved with the other person having a massage being in the same room can be down right uncomfortable.  By having the massages in separate rooms, everyone is more relaxed and enjoys their massage plus you have the time before and after the massage to connect with your special someone.

Having a hard time justifying the cost?  Another local spa offers a 50 minute service that includes a full body massage, foot cream, light back exfoliation and warm towels.  50 minutes?  How much massage are you actually getting?  And the cost? $70 per person, $140 per couple, and less than an hour and again in separate rooms, no together time.  Our treatment if we decided to cram it into 50 minutes, would be $65 per person, but why would you want to cram all this luxury and pampering into 50 minutes?

This is our Signature massage that all of our massage therapists are well versed in. This is also our most popular service. What is our Signature Massage? Your appointment time is scheduled for two (or 2.5) hours, giving you plenty of time to change, relax while soaking your feet, your 60 (or 90) minute massage based on a Swedish massage technique and at least 30 minutes following your massage to use our deluxe jetted shower, relax further in our relaxation room with more tea or water, change and slowly return to the rest of the world relaxed and calm. More than a massage, this is a true experience.

Swedish is known for it’s long gliding strokes but it also includes techniques like kneading or vibration. Swedish massage can improve circulation, increase range of motion, and reduce muscle tension. This style can also assist in restoring mobility, hydrating your tissues, and softening and toning your muscles. These techniques are done on a table and will include professional draping, and the use of oil or lotion. Our Couples Massage is the combination of two of our Signature massages. A massage can be a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend an morning, afternoon or perhaps a whole day with your partner. The Attic Day Spa is specifically configured to cater to couples.

Our change room is large enough for two people, as is our shower. Here you will change in to our luxury waffle weave microfibre robes. The relaxation room has the two antique foot soaking tubs side by side, so you can soak your feet, while sipping on our range of Rooibios teas. This part of your experience is designed specifically to give you time to unwind and relax, even before your massage begins.

Your actual massages are given in separate rooms, because from our experience you will get a quieter experience. People often fall asleep during a massage, and if your partner is a snorer you would not want that! Our licensed professional massage therapists will work with you to assure you get the best possible experience. Your massage will last 60 minutes, no chopping off time for disrobing and dressing, that is why we allow so much extra time.

After your couples massage you are given twenty minutes or so to leisurely shower (if you so wish) or dress and slowly descend to check out. Or to round off this relaxing experience book a night in one of our Bed and Breakfast’s guest rooms! It really takes the experience to new levels.

Our typical Couples Massage consists of a 60 minute Swedish Massage each (Combined cost $198). However you can book whatever sort of massage you would like.

This is truly one of the best ways to relax.Using special basalt stones your massage therapist will help melt the tension out of you muscles.This includes layouts, which means the placing of stones, for example on either side of your spine, between your toes, in your palms. It also includes using the stones to do various forms of massage such as Swedish and Deep Tissue.

Hot stone massage is excellent for hardworking muscles groups as well as being deeply grounding.You can’t imagine how good this feels until you try it.

Note: We no longer offer a 60 minute Hot Stone, it does not offer the full benefits as it is too rushed. That is simply not our style and the experience we are hoping you have.

Important things to know before you come for your pregnancy massage:

Most women can receive massage throughout their pregnancy. Many women consider massage as an important part of their health plan during their pregnancy as well as being enjoyable. For women with more complex or high risk pregnancies we will need to you talk to your doctor and fill out a form before coming in.

Although every woman is different, we recommend once a month during the first trimester, and twice a month in the second and third trimester. If you are having a lot of back pain, sharp and hip pains or sleeplessness you may want to increase your sessions to an hour and a half and come in once a week in the last trimester.

Congratulations! Postpartum massage can help your body, mind, and spirit adjust to the big changes in your life. As well as being a major pain relief, postpartum massage can help you realign your pelvis and your spine. It can also help you rehabilitate abdominal muscles, organs, and skin. If you have had a cesarean birth, this type of massage promotes your recovery as well as the healing of your incision. And last but not least you have been exhausted from keeping up with your new little one. Let us help you relax and refresh you body so you can enjoy this special time.

A wonderful compliment to Swedish or effective alone, Deep Tissue has much offer you. This modality is best described as slow and deep. Deep tissue techniques can break up adhesions (knots), increase your energy and range of motion, and assist in postural realignment. These techniques are excellent at decreasing pain especially chronic pain. If you have a trouble area or hold tension in a specific part of your body, deep tissue may be the perfect answer to lasting relief.

We recommend either having a full Deep Tissue session or having it incorporated into a longer Swedish session. We would be happy to tailor these techniques to meet your needs.

Calling all gardeners, techies, musicians and all others whose hands could use some appreciation, this is the treatment for you. Relieve soreness and improve the health of your hands by giving them much needed attention. This treatment involves a combination of techniques that can help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, improve flexibility and range of motion, and reduce tension. Your hands will be massaged with organic shea butter to add moisture and wrapped in hot towels. We can’t give you a new set of hands, but this is next best thing.

This facial treatment is designed to be added to your massage or body wrap experience.  Our massage therapists begin every facial treatment with an assessment of what your skin needs and our facials are all specifically catered to your skin type.  This is not an aggressive facial with extractions and harsh peels, but a gentle pampering of your skin to bring out your own natural glow.
